“We can be grateful for small things, big things, and everything in between.”
Hi! I am Kelsey. I support people with a variety of issues, including anxiety and depression. My goal is to make each client feel supported and safe. Clients have told me that I add kindness and compassion while strengthening their views of themselves. They report an increase in their self-confidence and self-compassion. And, couldn’t we all use a bit more of that these days?
My love for being a therapist began when I worked at a residential program as a youth counselor. I loved sitting in on therapists’ groups, and I kept asking questions about their work. I fell in love with watching a young person enter the program lost and in need of nurture and support; yet, when they graduated, they were more confident and aware of their strengths and communicated to meet their needs healthily. That was all I needed to know; this would be my career.
How I help
Clients have called me “The Validating Therapist.” I work hard to create an environment in our sessions where my clients feel supported and safe. How? We start by having a simple conversation. I am curious about who you are and what is working and not working for you. This natural conversation usually leads us quickly and safely to the root of a problem. From there, we work toward solving the problem!
I enjoy listening and navigating alongside my clients as we work to help them overcome their struggles. I especially enjoy seeing my clients feel ready and empowered to tackle any new problems they may encounter. I think this life is fluid. To adapt to our changing circumstances, we need to develop the skill of flexibility. I believe therapy can provide the gift of self-awareness that you can carry with you throughout this journey we call life. At the end of our work together, I hope my clients feel empowered, full of self-love, and purposeful.
More About Me
I love being outdoors with my husband and two Goldendoodle pups. I’m obsessed with those two. Their names are Goose and Maverick (yes, Top Gun reference). We love exploring trails, going to LakeArrowhead in the winter and the river in the summer. I love the water. In high school, I was a swimmer and played water polo. A personal goal I set for myself this year is to read more; I love to read but don’t often make it a priority, so I have challenged myself to incorporate this every week. So far, I am right on track with this goal!
